Pope Leo XIV: Earth's wealth is in the hands of a few

Pope Leo XIV warned about the concentration of world wealth in the hands of a few and the lack of attention by the powerful to the needs of the poor.
“All of creation is a cry. But many powerful people don't hear this cry: the Earth's wealth is in the hands of a few, very few, increasingly concentrated—unjustly—in the hands of those who often don't want to hear the moan of the Earth and of the poor,” he said.
During the catechesis in St. Peter's Square, the pontiff emphasized that the goods of the Earth were destined by God to all and stressed that the mission of humanity is to produce and share, not to appropriate what belongs to creation.
Leo XIV insisted that indifference to the suffering of the most vulnerable and the deterioration of the planet reflects an injustice that is aggravated by the accumulation of resources in the hands of a few, according to a press release from RT.
The Pope invited us to take responsibility for caring for the work of creation and ensuring that its fruits reach everyone, remembering that the real task of human beings is to generate life and hope.
