In two months of harvest, the Las Majaguas Sugar Plant has already produced more than 20,000 tons of sugar, in this its third consecutive mill after being reactivated, said the governor of this entity, Primitivo Cedeño.

“More than 20,000 tons of sugar and 14,000 tons of molasses, in just 64 days of harvest,” Cedeño said during the presentation of the preliminary results of the 2024-2025 harvest at the mill, located in the Agua Blanca municipality, in the northern part of Portuguesa.

As reported by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), the industry, rehabilitated for the 2022 season after five years out of service, grinds production to small and medium-sized sugar cane growers in the area of influence of the Las Majaguas Irrigation System, made up of the municipalities of Agua Blanca, Páez and San Rafael de Oonto.

The plant's projection for the current harvest is to process 800,000 tons of sugar cane, which translates into the production and placement in the domestic market of 65,000 tons of sugar.
