The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, presided over the farewell ceremony for the 32 Cuban fighters who died during the operation to protect President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores, after their kidnapping on January 3 in Venezuelan territory.
During the ceremony, the Head of State highlighted the historic link between the two countries. “First of all, Cubans and Venezuelans are brothers,” he said at the beginning of his speech, in which he also recalled the context of aggressions that, according to him, has marked bilateral relations, RT reported.
