The president in charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, urged the country's governors, governors, mayors and mayors to build at least one care home for grandparents in their territories.

“In each municipality there must be at least one house for grandparents, where they spend time, share, have fun and participate in activities. My call is to continue opening spaces for the care of our grandparents,” he said.

The Head of State in charge stated that older adults whose homes were affected by the double earthquake will receive rehabilitation care, but they should also know that they have grandparents' homes, which are “meeting places for loving people to be a big family”.
