President-in-Charge congratulates Osmaidy Arias and Giraly Marcano for making history in Central Americans

The president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, congratulated the athletes Osmaidy Arias and Giraly Marcano who made history by winning the first gold medal for Venezuela in Modern Pentathlon at the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games.

“Arias and Marcano, with an extraordinary performance and a record of 1,215 points, demonstrated that discipline, effort and passion for sports lead us to great victories. Venezuelan pride!” , said the president through a post on a Telegram channel.

The Criollas won the gold with a time of 0:57.62 and a score of 312. The silver medal went to the representatives of Guatemala, Sofía Cabrera and Sophia Hernández in 1:01.12 and 295 points, while the bronze medal went to the Cuban Yudislennis Lores and Diana Leyva in 1:02.10 and 290 points.
