“The People of Venezuela do not accept orders from any external factor,” said the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, in response to the Secretary of the Treasury of the United States, who made some statements, described them as “irrelevant and offensive,”

“The People of Venezuela do not accept orders from any external factor. The People of Venezuela have a Government and this Government obeys the People,” he emphasized during a meeting on the Public Consultation on the Partial Reform of the Organic Hydrocarbons Law, with representatives of the energy sector, the National Assembly (AN) and national and foreign businessmen.

He argued that it is about reciprocity in that relationship between the Venezuelan people, their authorities and their institutions.”

He also assured that the National Executive is not afraid. “We are not afraid, nor are we afraid of relations of respect with the United States, but they must be one of respect, of respect for international legality, of minimum human respect in interpersonal relationships and of respect for the dignity and history of Venezuela,” he stressed.

The president in charge reiterated that “we have no other external factor to obey and the personal threats I receive, I want you to know that I was already aware of them when I was sworn in as President in Charge and took office.”
