The President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, expressed her gratitude to the President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, for conveying her condolences to the Venezuelan people, as well as to the families and friends of the heroes and heroines who died in combat last January 3rd.

During a ceremony at the Miraflores Palace, where she led the first Federal Government Council (CFG), together with regional authorities, the president in charge stated that she had spoken with President Díaz-Canel, on the night of this Tuesday, January 20.

He said that he also sent his condolences to the Cuban people, recalling that 32 of their heroes lost their lives in that same fight, giving their sacrifice for Venezuela and for the unity that binds the peoples of the Great Homeland.

“I thank President Díaz-Canel for calling us, for knowing that we are united in the just causes of Latin America, he encourages us. It encourages our esteem as Venezuelans, encourages us to continue together in this process, which is inescapable and inevitable, which is the unity of our Peoples,” he said.

He also stressed that his example reaffirms the shared commitment to defend the dignity, solidarity and values that unite both nations.
