The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced this Monday that mega-elections will be held in the country next year, in which those who do not know the institutions of the State should not participate.
“In 2025, what is coming is the mother of elections, a mega-election because you have to elect the National Assembly, deputies and deputies, you have to choose the 23 governors per state and you have to elect the 335 mayors, the 23 legislative councils and the 335 Municipal Councils,” said the President.
During his participation in the XI Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), he stated that the revolutionary forces are already preparing, “we are already reengineering the machinery, the 1x10x7, preparing to see what the method of the candidates, the candidates, will be like, we are already doing that”.
In this regard, he warned those who leave the Constitution and do not respect the Public Powers: “I agree with what the president of the National Assembly said, as head of State I say it, as a revolutionary leader I say it, as an ordinary man I say it too, as a citizen exercising my right I say it, those who do not recognize Electoral Power, those who do not recognize Power Judicial, those who do not recognize the powers of the State, those who do not respect the right to peace, those who ultimately do not recognize the power of this Constitution, simply by law cannot participate in electoral processes.”
He stressed that the extreme right “is leading a good sector of the opposition to the ravine (...) it is once again removing them from political life, from constitutional legal politics.”
