President Maduro announces the creation of the Coffee University

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced the creation of the Coffee University (Unicafé).

During the closing of the IV International Meeting of Venezuelan Specialty Coffee 2025, Maduro explained that the house of higher education will be located in the Boconó municipality of Trujillo state, in the Hacienda San Alejo, with an area of 15 hectares.

“There they will have specialized training to continue giving it ever greater rank, both scientific, educational and of various signs, and to be able to unite the knowledge of producers, nationally and internationally,” said the National President.

President Maduro has instructed it to be a university with an international component. In this context, he also anticipated that coffee production is ready for an expansion and renewal of the planting area.

In that regard, he emphasized that 50 million coffee plants, “is the 2026 goal” for the improvement of the economy and the production of Venezuelan coffee.

He asserted that for the month of June of the year 2026, the V International Meeting of Venezuelan Specialty Coffee 2025 is scheduled to take place.

“You are already invited, set aside hotels, so that you can fully enjoy all the love and beauty that emanates from Venezuela. In Venezuela, it emanates a message of love, of life, of integration with the world,” said the National President to the coffee growers and international guests attending the meeting held in La Carlota, Miranda state.
