The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, during a telephone call with the multinational TeleSUR, reiterated that the incorporation of Venezuela into the BRICS group represents a transcendental event for the future of the nation, so he hopes that at the next meeting of this block its annexation as a full member will take place.
The acronym BRICS refers to Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, nations that have given Venezuela the rank of partner in the first place before being declared a full member of these emerging economies, with great potential, which may become among the dominant economies in the middle of the century.
He recognized the special interest in supporting emerging economies within a new multipolarity through the possibility of incorporating proposals and alternatives that allow commercial exchange between peoples.
Venezuela's entry into the BRICS group will guarantee member nations that they have one of the largest proven oil and gas reserves in the world, in addition to their geostrategic position.
