President Maduro: Gabriel Boric is defeated because he mocked the people's hopes for change

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, this Monday, October 28, argued that the President of Chile, Gabriel Boric, is solely responsible for the defeat suffered by the left-wing coalition in the local elections, held this Sunday, October 27.

“Chile's left-wing and popular forces have had an overwhelming defeat and their sole culprit is Gabriel Boric, unfortunately,” he said.

“Boric is defeated because he mocked the Chilean people's hopes for change. He turned his back on his people,” he said in the Digital Zone segment of the show Con Maduro+, broadcast number 64.”

In this regard, he stressed that Boric “believed that becoming President he had to make a pact with the economic, political and media elites, he abandoned the program of substantial change and betrayed the ideals of Salvador Allende and turned his back on the entire popular movement.”

“At the international level, he believed that joining the United States to support the war against Russia and going out to visit Zelenski, a Nazi, he believed that supporting the fascists of Venezuela against the Bolivarian Revolution would give him votes, on the contrary, people do not support cowards, people support the courageous, those who fight,” he said.
