In order to strengthen ties of friendship and cooperation with Lebanese communities, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, received this Tuesday, February 25, the Muslim religious authority of Lebanon, Ali Muhammad Al Ghazzaw i, at the Miraflores Palace.
The presence of the religious authority is due to a pastoral tour of the Muslim community, which takes place in countries such as Panama, Colombia and which ends in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
Ali Ghazzawi, a doctor in Islamic law, has a degree as an imam when it comes to reading the Holy Quran. He is a charismatic, simple person who descends from a humble peasant family, who comes to office because of his studies and dedication; he has spent his whole life serving religion and communities.
This meeting marks an important step in the consolidation of bilateral relations and in the promotion of a constructive and respectful dialogue between different cultures and religions.
On October 4, 2024, the head of state held a meeting with the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to the Lebanese Republic, Elias Lebbos, to whom he expressed his full support and support for the Arab People, in relation to the regrettable attack by the Zionist state of Israel on both Palestine and Lebanon.
