On the occasion of the end of Ramadan, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, held a meeting this Wednesday, April 10, with representatives of the Muslim community in Venezuela.
The activity, held at the Miraflores Palace, which consisted of a dinner with this community, was the setting for an exchange aimed at establishing meeting points for spiritual development.
In his speech, the head of state said that “here in Venezuela we live together in peace and brotherhood between Islam, Christianity and all religious beliefs and practices.”
“The year of Ramadan was marked by the massacre of the Palestinian people. Those days will pass and I am sure that God will hear the prayers of the Muslim People and the Peoples of the world. Palestine will be reborn,” he emphasized.
He also said that he hopes that “in a year, when we are meeting right here in this Palace, to end with a dinner as beautiful as today's Ramadan 2025, we may be celebrating the freedom of Palestine, the peace of Palestine, the independence of Palestine and the Palestinian People.”
He stated that “Muslims are our brothers, brothers in God, brothers for struggles, for life and for a better better world that we are going to build together”.
The meeting was attended by ambassadors of the Muslim community in Venezuela, as well as the special envoy of the Egyptian Ministry of Religious Affairs, Sheik Amor Salem; the religious guide of the Mosque, Ibrahim Ibin Abdul Aziz Al-Ibrahim, Sheik Omar Kaddoura and the Vice President of Religious Affairs of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Nicolás Maduro Guerra.
This Wednesday, April 10, the Muslim community celebrates Eid al-Fitr (final festival of the Ramadan fast), where the traditional greeting “Eid Mubarak!” is present at the end of the Eid prayer.
