This Saturday, February 15, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, reaffirmed that Commander Hugo Chávez left history as part of his legacy as a living force to promote great changes in Venezuela.
“The great history of Venezuela, the history of our Homeland, Commander Hugo Chávez taught us and left history as a fundamental part of his leadership as a living, inspiring and driving force of great changes,” he said during the Solemn Session for the 206th anniversary of the installation of the Angostura Congress.
In this regard, he stressed that this has also been one of the great secrets of the Bolivarian Revolution to face all the attacks against the Homeland in these times.
“That is the secret of the Bolivarian Revolution, that is why it has been able to live, face and emerge victorious from so many attacks; the original force of our roots, because history came to become reality, because history is continuity, it is origin, it is identity,” he said.
He reaffirmed that “without history it is impossible for a people to consider transcending, building and advancing; especially in the 21st century when we face the false promise of deideologization, depoliticization and how many ideological traps that seek to impose themselves”.
For this reason, he stressed the importance of continuing to commemorate the speech of the Father of the Fatherland, Simon Bolivar, at the Congress of Angostura, since there “he summoned the absolute sovereignty of the country and gave with all his moral prestige, with all his political authority, one of the works that undoubtedly represented the moment of the greatest maturity of Bolivarian thought and project”.
