On the afternoon of Wednesday, August 20, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, called for the union of all rebel peoples of all social movements in Latin America, the Caribbean, the United States, Africa and beyond, in defense of the right of the Venezuelan people to sovereignty, peace, self-determination and the forging of their own future.

“Unity is what made us strong and union is the great lesson we learned from yesterday's giants,” he said.

This was stated in his participation by video conference XIII Extraordinary Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), an opportunity in which he specified that “we have enough fighting capacity for any scenario, as well as the will and unity to continue moving along the path we believe, which is none other than a profoundly humanist, democratic project of peace with life, rights, independence, sovereignty and dignity”.

The Head of State noted that “our path is the union for the emancipation of all America (...) the Latin American and Caribbean path and this Bolivarian Alliance defends it today more than ever. ALBA stands on its feet and does not neglect any front of work.”
