President Nicolás Maduro assured that in Venezuela there is an extremist sector that is defeated and that is in retreat.

“They (the extreme right) are nothing, they don't know what it is to respect the coexistence of democracy, they want to exterminate half of the population because it is Chavista, they want to exterminate at a stroke like Pedro Carmona Estanga, Venezuelan institutions, the Public Powers, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, everything that smells like Homeland,” said the national president, after exercising his right to vote.

He asserted that this sector always participates in order to find a reason to generate violence, riots, an insurrection and not to recognize the results.

He also said that he hopes that there will be general recognition of those who have to recognize the results that the people of Venezuela have. “I hope that there will be loyal recognition of democracy, of the 54 political parties and of all the candidates who registered,” he added.

As for the candidates who are the winners, he said that he hopes there will be greater dedication in the territories that were elected. “That they don't appear every 5 years when there are elections, that they go to the communities to listen to the people, that they raise street parliamentarism.”
