This Tuesday, February 25, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, said that it is of vital importance to determine and organize the methodology for the great national debate on the Constitutional Reform for the modernization of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela of 1999.

“This is the vital and fundamental methodology for the debate,” he reiterated.

In that sense, he specified that the objective is to achieve “the effective incorporation from the physical point of view of the minds of all the good people of Venezuela.”

This was stated in the Néstor Kirchner Hall, in the Miraflores Palace, where he led a meeting with the National Commission for Constitutional Reform, whose authorities delivered materials and documents that discuss the tables such as the transformation, modernization and democratic expansion of Venezuela, the Principles and Values of the New Society, the general updating of the Constitution and the new economic model.

“The debate has already opened, you can see it, it can be felt, it is heard, imagine when we come out with the concrete proposals,” he said.

The head of state stated that the debate was activated “on the historical relevance of the reform on the constituent Popular Power, the original, non-transferable Power of the People, on sovereignty”.

“The debate caught on the road,” he said.

He also emphasized that it is also important for the Venezuelan people to know what the reform is about, so that “no one can manipulate with campaigns of lies and fear.”
