President Maduro: “Jimmy Carter helped to dismantle intolerance and the coup in Venezuela”

The President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro, expressed his condolences to family members, relatives and the people of the United States for the physical disappearance of the former president of that country, Jimmy Carter, who was a defender of democracy in the world.

“In the face of the death of former president, Jimmy Carter, I express our sorrow and send my condolences to his family, loved ones and to the American people. We will always remember the contribution he made at the time to dismantle destabilizing attempts, the intolerance of the extreme right and the coup in Venezuela,” emphasized the Head of State on the social network Telegram where he accompanied his words with some photos of Carter in Venezuela, during official visits.

He reiterated that “their contributions to global politics should serve as a reminder that the values of democracy and the free self-determination of peoples must always prevail.”
