This Thursday, October 9th, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, led the day with the delegates of the World Congress in Defense of Mother Earth, held in Caracas, whose purpose is to discuss the ecosocialist proposals that will emerge from the event and that will be presented at the next COP30 in Brazil.
He specified that the event is attended by 173 international delegates from 63 countries.
To open the activity, the head of state expressed his recognition of the popular and environmental force. “My solidarity and ecosocialist greetings to all and all delegates and delegates of communes, Community Circuits, environmental and environmental movements and to all the people who fight for life on the planet and for the defense of Mother Earth,” he stressed.
The Congress will continue this Friday, October 10, with working groups that seek to consolidate the proposals for action, which the Venezuelan delegation and social movements will bring to the world summit in Belém do Pará, Brazil, to COP30, which will take place from November 10 to 21, 2025.
This meeting seeks to bring the Venezuelan experience of the Great Mother Earth Mission and the Tree Mission to international climate debates.
