The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, greets the Catholic people who went out to venerate the Nazarene of São Paulo and ask for his blessings, a consecration that celebrates 350 years.
The head of state, through a post on his Telegram account, stressed that it is a special Holy Wednesday, full of hope for thousands of devotees and devotees who thank for the healing and miracles of our Lord Jesus Christ, who became a Nazarene.
“My greetings to the Catholic people of Venezuela who fill the streets all over the country, especially in the Basilica of Santa Teresa in our dear Caracas, to venerate the Nazarene of Saint Paul and ask for his blessings,” he said.
He also asked the Lord Jesus Christ to receive prayers for peace, prosperity, well-being and protection of Venezuelan families.
“As a man of faith, I am very moved by this tradition that honors the sacrifice and suffering of the Son of God on the road to Calvary,” said Maduro.
The Nazarene of São Paulo, whose image arrived in Venezuela in 1674, is one of the most deeply rooted symbols of faith for the Venezuelan people, who travel every Holy Wednesday in procession and follow the traditional route of the 7 temples.
