President Maduro: National unity is the only way to defeat the threat of US attack

This Tuesday, September 16, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, emphasized that national unity is the only way to contain, neutralize and fully defeat the threat of attack by North American imperialism and for peace to triumph in Venezuela.

“It is the union of all sectors of Venezuela over political, ideological, color, culture, race or religion distinctions, it is national unity,” he emphasized as he led the installation of the National Council for Sovereignty and Peace, which brought together 434 guests from all strategic sectors of the country to reaffirm, in a unified manner, the defense of Venezuela's sovereignty and peace.

In this regard, the head of state stated that he welcomed “the constitution in record time of the National Council for Sovereignty and Peace”.

He argued that “this situation, which is rooted in an imperial attempt by the United States government, is to seize our wealth, to generate regime change, to impose a puppet government on the country.”

He pointed out that “attempted coups are resolved with more democracy, more participation, and more elections.”

“It's a threat of war in the Caribbean against Venezuela, I like to be clear, without dramatizing. You are never going to see me dramatize, you have never seen me complain, as President of the Republic I have been the victim of the most horrible economic war that can be waged against a country and we faced it and we overcame it by developing our productive forces and when the pandemic arrived, you didn't see me crying,” he stressed.
