The President of
the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, officially
launched the Grand Mission “Viva Venezuela mi Patria Querida” this Friday,
aimed at uniting all the country's national, popular and traditional culture.
From the
Teresa Carreño Theater, in Caracas, the head of state emphasized that this
new generation Great Mission contains eight fundamental vertices. “We are a
multiethnic and multicultural country and in diversity we meet and love each other and
we all unite in this 21st century Venezuela towards the future, to the
good, to the beautiful,” he said.
The
Venezuelan Dignitary pointed out that this initiative was born “out of necessary self-criticism and renewed hope, it was born of you, of
the proposal to rescue and
bring to the fore what is ours, what is traditional, what is original, what is popular, our great mixed culture”.
He pointed out that the
eight vertices were defined to “face what is one of the most
important crises facing humanity today”, such as the cultural crisis. “It has been
tried to impose the anti-values of horticulture on human existence, it has
been tried to homogenize and destroy the roots of peoples (...) rather than
transculturize ourselves, what is being sought today is to culturize ourselves, to take away our memory, to take away our soul, to
take away our being”, he criticized.
In this regard,
he reiterated that the “Great Mission Viva Venezuela My Beloved Homeland” was born to give
life to the soul and to the national being, to our national identity, to our own.”
