Artificial Intelligence (AI) has its pros and cons, which is why Venezuela is studying ways of using it to benefit the human being, the People, “not to replace the human being,” said the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, this Monday, October 14, in reference to the complaint of Geoffrey Hinton, winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics, about the dangers of AI.
“Nothing can replace your intelligence, my intelligence and our intelligence. Nothing can replace your creativity. We are God's creation,” he emphasized.
On this subject, in the Digital Zone segment of the special program “With Maduro+” dedicated to youth, from the headquarters of the “Great Venezuela Youth Mission”, he explained that in Venezuela the Bolivarian Government is already studying the risks and opportunities of this new technology.
“There are creators of Artificial Intelligence who denounce risks because they know about the evil in the mind and the economic interests of people like Elon Musk, who want to use it to manipulate life on the planet, they dream of controlling the planet,” he stressed.
The National Mandario commented that AI “has extraordinary uses for the diagnosis of social problems, in the application of health, and so on.”
In this context, he reported that the creation of diplomas is under development, “I am going to be a student of the degree in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Sciences “Humberto Fernández Morán”, I signed up with Cilita”.
“It has to be studied and Communications Minister Alfred Nazareth Ñáñez is currently traveling to China for a major global event organized by China on communication media and Artificial Intelligence,” he announced.
