The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, lamented this Sunday the physical departure of Jacobo Torres, “foreign minister of the working class”, and confirmed the continuation of his legacy “for union causes and for the people”.

“I met my friend Jacobo Torres when I was 15 years old. From the beginning of our struggles for the working class, we were together, on the front line of battle, in the constituent workers' front of 1999, just as we founded the Bolivarian Workers' Force and the Trade Union Central,” recalled the Head of State through his social networks.

In this sense, he joined “family, friends and colleagues at this heartfelt moment, our fraternal embrace to you. Until victory always!”

Torres is known as one of the most representative deputies, internationalists and trade unionists of the class struggle in Venezuela, as well as being a faithful defender of the truth of the nation and a promoter of the construction of a new, multipolar and alternative world to the imperialist model.
