This Thursday, October 23, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, swore in the spaces of the Darío Vivas plenary hall in Parque Central, Caracas, to the Promoting Commission for the Workers' Constituent Assembly , which aims to refound the agglutinating instrument of the country's workers' movement aligned with the Strategic Plan of the Big 7 Transformations and the Homeland Program.

“We are today in this plenary of the swearing in of the Promoting Committee for the Workers' Constituent Assembly. We are launching the agglutinating process of the labor movement, so that bureaucratism or any of the old methods that served the oligarchies at the time of the fourth republic will never be repeated,” he said.

During the activity, the head of state recalled that in those same spaces the Bolivarian Workers' Force was born; as well as the amount of struggle they fought during the 90s for the birth of the Fifth Republic Movement.

He specified that during the Fourth Republic, neoliberalism sought to destroy the rights of the Working Class; however, thanks to the trade union movement, it was possible to survive this destructive offensive.

At the same time, he recalled when Commander Hugo Chávez convened the Constituent Assembly in the country. “For the first time, a Democratic Republican Constitution was drafted and approved together with the People, the most advanced of all of our strong,” he said.
