President Maduro thanked his Russian counterpart for supporting the People of Venezuela

This Wednesday, during the 16th BRICS Summit, held in the city of Kazan in the Russian Federation, President Nicolás Maduro Moros thanked his counterpart Vladimir Putin for supporting the People of Venezuela.

“Venezuela is on its way to the BRICS; Commander Hugo Chávez called for building a multipolar, multicentric world, the cycle of the birth of a new geopolitics,” he said.

He also stressed that the current members of the BRICS are a new emerging superpower, China, Russia and India exercise respect for the peoples of the global East, “in the end we are sister peoples in the world (...) I congratulate them on the success of this historic summit, which gives a message to the peoples of the world.”

“Russia and Venezuela have built political and moral values that have been put to the test all these years (...) We have passed the desert, we come and we are standing, we are whole and victorious,” added the Venezuelan head of state.

He also stressed his admiration for the battle that “Russia is waging against Nazism, fascism, we see with admiration how he has been able to lead the people of Russia,” he said, adding that “we are very proud, we are prepared to continue moving forward, we have a concrete agenda, we are advancing many issues and economic growth”.

“We are prepared to receive Russian investment in Venezuela, to continue strengthening trade and strengthening the alliance between business sectors in all fields; we are prepared to advance on issues of bilateral cooperation,” concluded President Maduro.
