The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, stressed that the victory of Venezuela has begun through culture.

“He is with us and if God is with us everything has to work out. To put on espadrilles, because what is coming is the triumph of culture, the triumph of Venezuela, triumph and more triumph,” said the president during a telephone conversation on the program Café en la Mañana, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).

President Maduro stressed that national culture is the result of a historical process that integrates the struggles of native peoples, the African heritage and the musical traditions of Spain, which shaped a diversity that is expressed in song and joropo as symbols of the country. “It's not folklore, it's the profound song of Venezuela,” he stressed.

On the other hand, the head of state recalled the 201 years of the Battle of Ayacucho, whose definitive victory on December 9, 1824, consolidated the independence of South America.

“The Great Victory of the Battle of Ayacucho, which consolidated the independence and political emancipation of all of South America and had a great impact on the consolidation of the emancipation and independence of everything in Latin America and the Caribbean today,” he concluded.
