The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, criticized this Friday the absence of former opposition extremist candidate Edmundo González Urrutia in the hearing of the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), to which all the candidates for the elections held on July 28 were summoned.

“All 10 candidates have been summoned to court. We have attended subpoena 9. The fascist candidate González Urrutia was missing again. He doesn't show his face. What were you planning, more violence? Do you have other criminals hiding that we haven't captured to attack hospitals, buses, to burn police bases, to burn vehicles to citizens, Mr. González Urrutia? , questioned the Head of State in statements to the media from the country's highest court.

The Dignitary noted that in the morning hours the 10 candidates had confirmed their attendance, “and then a call was received from an authorized lawyer who said that there was no consensus in the Unitary Platform to attend. Mr. González Urrutia, there is a concept that lawyers handle, this judicial situation and this case is intuiitu personae, it is you who were summoned by the highest court of the Republic.”

In this regard, he wondered what the next steps of extremism are, “calling for an assault on power again? Let's open our eyes. Venezuela is at peace and will remain at peace, and nothing and no one will disturb peace because it is a supreme objective of the Constitution and the deepest feeling that exists in today's Venezuela,” he emphasized.

He stressed that the act in the Supreme Court “demonstrates the country 's constitutional and institutional democratic strength. A country with five established and strong powers, they can always improve and change to perfect themselves, but today Venezuela has five established constitutional powers.”
