This Monday, August 18, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, warned the revolutionary militancy about the dangers of sectarianism.
“We must be very careful with sectarianism, divisionism, because imperialism deals with a left-wing discourse that pierces the popular union that we have built and we must defend and solidify with truth, work, struggle and solutions to the problems of our people,” he said.
He recalled that “we have seen the discovery of infiltrated groups, years within our ranks, alien to the Revolutionary process, they cloak up with some NGO, receive thousands of euros and dollars, from USAID and other institutions, with the purpose of financing right-wing sectors, to attack from within.”
In this regard, he argued that “we must overcome sectarianism, considered one of the greatest obstacles in the country's political practice.”
He stressed that “the true struggle for the Fatherland will always have as its triumph justice, peace and Bolivarian Socialism of the 21st century, with an emphasis on the construction of a united and peaceful country.”
