President Nicolás Maduro ordered the drafting and approval of the Special Law of the ODDI

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, this Wednesday, January 08, issued the order that, this year, the Special Law on the Organs of the Directorate for Integral Defense (ODDI) be drafted and approved.

In this regard, he instructed the Sectorial Vice President of Defense and Sovereignty, G/J Vladimir Padrino López, to “draft together with the National Assembly so that this year the Special Law of the ODDI will be approved.”

At the Miraflores Palace, on the occasion of the installation of the Organ of the Directorate for Integral Defense (ODDI), he specified that it will be an executing body of the National Security Council, which will be under the command of the Commander-in-Chief of the FANB and President of the Republic.

He also explained that the Organ of the Directorate for Integral Defense (ODDI), State Powers are included at all levels, in a People - Government integration, in order to comply with the constitutional principle of co-responsibility to safeguard Venezuela's democracy, independence and sovereignty, from any internal or external threat.

In this context, the head of state assured that “in the face of the real threat, financed by the outgoing government of the United States, its satellite governments and the fascist extreme right, we activated the ODDI for the defense of the Constitution and the country's sovereignty.”

He said that he is already in communication and coordination with the ODDI of all the states of the country, “we are also taking action at the municipal level.”
