Faced with the massive popular mobilization in Caracas, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, took a solemn oath, ratifying his unwavering commitment to the Bolivarian Revolution and to the Venezuelan people.
President Maduro recalled his historic commitment to Commander Hugo Chávez to emphasize the magnitude of his promise to the Nation, “have the absolute security that just as I swore before our Commander Chávez, before dismissing him, absolute loyalty at the cost of my own life and peace of mind, I swear to you absolute loyalty even beyond the time that we can live this beautiful and heroic story. I will never, ever fail them.”
The Head of State reiterated the national desire for peaceful coexistence, but with non-negotiable principles, “We want peace, but peace with sovereignty, peace with equality, we don't want the peace of slaves, nor do we want the peace of the colony, never a colony, never slaves, freedom, republic, peace with dignity, that is the peace we are going to preserve.”
The President stressed that the true power of the Republic lies in the capacity of organization and mobilization of the bases, “you are the National Power on that street, in that community, and if you consolidate yourself there as a Popular Power, national power is invincible and is eternal, perpetual.”
He categorically reaffirmed his commitment to the deepening of the Bolivarian Revolution. He emphasized the need to advance in the construction of a new model of country through a structural revolution that seeks to refound the Republic on renewed political, economic and social bases. This work, the president assured, is essential to ensure the future and sovereignty of the nation.
