The president of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Luis Arce, during an interview with Russia Today (RT) during the BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia, confirmed that his nation will be a member of the group.

“This meeting has served to confirm once again that there is an alternative to what was being considered unipolarity,” said the Bolivian president

He also stated that “in reality, we are very happy to this summit, to this meeting of BRICS countries, because here we see the opportunity to exchange criteria, exchange concerns that we have in the country and in the region, and in all the countries that make up the BRICS.”

“Now we see that another block can be formed, another group of countries that are willing to do things differently to generate development for all,” he said.

The Bolivian president indicated that he will be a new partner of the BRICS and now the priority of his agenda is to “consolidate ourselves first” in that capacity. Bolivia wants the help of all the countries in the block “to accelerate the industrialization process” in its national territory, he explained.
