The president of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Luis Arce Catacora, during the celebration this Wednesday of the XIII Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Bolivarian Alliance of the Peoples of Our America-Peoples' Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), joined the rejection of the imperial threats against regional peace by the nations of this regional bloc.

“We are participating in this call out of urgency to make effective our solidarity with the People and the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, in the face of the unacceptable provocation of the United States, which still thinks that our territory is its backyard and vanguard area,” stressed the Bolivian Head of State.

He also rejected the recurrent use of the fight against drugs as an instrument of “imperialist intervention” against countries that do not align with their geopolitical interests.

“The Government of the United States (USA) has announced the deployment of military forces in the Caribbean Sea and various parts of Latin America under the pretext of combating drug trafficking. Not only do these unilateral orders constitute a threat to regional peace, and they violate the sovereignty of states, but they also ignore the basic principles of international law,” emphasized the Head of State.

He added that “putting a price on the figure of a democratically elected ruler is an affront, an unacceptable act of interference, and a direct attack on the sovereignty of our peoples”,

Bolivia joins the free voice of ALBA-TCP to reject all forms of interference, and to reiterate that Latin America and the Caribbean are and must continue to be a zone of peace,” Arce said.
