This Wednesday, the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, during his speech at the XVI BRICS Summit, held in the city of Kazan in the Russian Federation, called for avoiding the escalation and expansion of the conflict with Ukraine.
“China, Brazil and the countries of the Global South have created a group of Friends of Peace,” continued the Asian leader, the association aims to unite voices in support of peace on the basis of the inadmissibility of increasing the degree of hostilities, transferring the conflict to third countries and encouraging the continuation of battles.
The Chinese leader observed that currently, in the midst of a period of transformation, the global community is faced with a “fateful” choice: will the world be turbulent or will it turn towards peaceful development?
Xi Jinping recalled Russian writer Nikolai Chernyshevsky's book 'What to do? ' , in which the main character shows will and determination to achieve his goals.
According to the Asian president, it is necessary to develop the qualities of the protagonist, such as courage and the ability to respond to changes, thus opening up new perspectives for high-quality cooperation.
