This Tuesday, the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, responded to the threats of the Republican candidate for president of the United States (USA), Donald Trump, who threatened to impose sanctions of up to 25% against the Aztec nation.

“There's going to be a good relationship. I think it's important, because sometimes we don't have enough information about him and others, about anyone, from the Democratic or Republican Party, about the effort that Mexico has made to reduce migration or the presence of migrants at the border,” said the president

Sheinbaum explained, during his regular press conference, that since the last presidency of Andrés Manuel López Obrador, mechanisms have been applied to provide jobs in Mexico to migrants, as well as humanitarian return.

He also revealed that from December 2023 to the close of last October, there was a 75% decrease in the number of migrants who arrived at the northern Mexican border.
