The President of the Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, urged the countries that make up the Group of 20 (G20) to make efforts for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
“Faced with this humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip, I once again call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire,” Erdogan added.
In addition, he noted that the risk of famine in the Gaza Strip has reached a catastrophic level according to international criteria.
“96% of the population of Gaza, that is, more than two million people, do not have access to healthy food or water,” he said according to the news agency TASS.
He pointed out that the Turkish nation has sent more than 86,000 tons of humanitarian aid” to the Gaza Strip and more than 1,300 tons to Lebanon because they are countries that have been victims of Israel's warrior policies.
