President Rodríguez ratified Venezuela's rights to the Essequibo at the UN: The call is to return to the Geneva Agreement

The President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, ratified Venezuela's historic rights to the territory of Guiana Essequiba, “the call to the authorities of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana is to resolve and return to negotiations, as ordered by the Geneva Agreement.”

He said that “for those who wonder what side Venezuela is on, there are our lines and references. Our side is only one, that of the citizens of the world who seek their happiness, their development and their freedom.”

During his speech, before the Plenary of the 81st General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), in New York, United States, he stressed that “the agreements that last the most are those that come from bilateral negotiations, rather than external bodies”.

In addition, the president also said that “a lot is said about Venezuela. Many people think about Venezuela. Some are trying to interfere in Venezuelan affairs.”

“I come to talk to you about a Venezuela, whose national life has been affected by a crisis of political coexistence, which disrupted national life and our interaction with the world,” he said.

He stated that in the nation “interests outside the common good of Venezuelans were imposed.”
