The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, urged this Friday to truly reposition science in the world, with the human being as a central example.
In this regard, he pointed out that “science cannot continue to be used to do harm, to do evil, to threaten humanity”, but that “it must place the human being, the family, society at the center to contribute in a multidimensional way with all its forms of generating knowledge in transformative actions that make life much better, that help us build a more prosperous, more just, more egalitarian, more humane society, science for humanity, science for development, science for peace in all its sense”.
During the closing of the 1st International Congress “Scientific Convergences for a Shared Future” and the beginning of academic activities at the National University of Sciences Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán, the head of state emphasized the importance of this house of studies.
“We already have the plan for the expansion of the University, its territorial expansion and for the articulation of the university together with the Great Humberto Fernández-Morán Science and Technology Mission, with the territorial power of the communal circuits, of the scientific hotbeds in schools and high schools, with the scientific power of all the universities and centers of research and science production in the country,” he emphasized.
