Presidential Commission for the Rescue of Lake Maracaibo has collected 320,000 tons of waste

Since August 2023, 320,604 tons of petrolized and non-petrolized waste have been collected in Lake Maracaibo, as part of the actions of the Presidential Commission for the Rescue, Conservation and Sustainable Development of this Zulian icon.
In a press release from the Corporation for the Development of the Zulian Region (CORPOZULIA), Néstor Reverol, indicated that it has been a titanic task that we have carried out with 125,763 people, 46 boats and 94 heavy and specialized machines, thus complying with the six established vertices of the Master Plan that we designed with experts and Popular Power.”
He explained that 23.9 km of coastline were cleaned up, 20,788 tons of waste were collected in 76 glens and 342 tons with the “Fish Your Plastic” day. He added that PDVSA joined these tasks with the replacement of 600 km of pipes and the collection of 43 TONS of environmental liabilities, in addition to petrolized and non-petrolized waste .
