Presidential Commission on Habitability has inspected more than 51,000 infrastructures

The Presidential Commission for the Evaluation of Habitability of Infrastructure reported this Friday, August 7, that it has carried out 51 thousand 124 inspections in the entities affected by the double earthquake.

Of that total of rapid damage assessments carried out on buildings, 29,862 structures were classified with a green label, that is, 58%.

In addition, some 11,927 infrastructures received the yellow label, being 23%; while 9,335 obtained the red label, representing 18%.

According to the weekly balance sheet published on its Instagram account, the Presidential Commission deployed 3,071 inspectors in several prioritized areas to carry out the evaluations.

The authorities plan to maintain the technical inspection plan on an ongoing basis after the two earthquakes of last June 24.

Previously, the commission had announced the beginning of the second phase of the process with the protocol for the rehabilitation of infrastructures that have the yellow label, as well as the second evaluation of the red label to determine if they can be repairable.

For the third phase, repair projects in these infrastructures are expected to be addressed, in coordination with the corresponding mayors and governorates.
