Presidents of Venezuela and Türkiye held a meeting via telephone

This Saturday, President Nicolás Maduro held a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, where they exchanged positions, criteria and assessments on global geopolitics.
According to a statement released by the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, during the conversion, President Maduro explained to his counterpart the illegal, disproportionate, unnecessary and even extravagant nature of the US threats against our country.
For his part, Erdoğan expressed his solidarity with the Venezuelan people and his commitment to the defense of international law and the sovereignty of nations.

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, held a telephone conversation today with the President of the Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. During the dialogue, both Heads of State exchanged positions, criteria and assessments on global geopolitics, as well as on the most recent global events affecting stability and the future of humanity.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed his deep concern about the threats that have recently loomed against Venezuela, in particular the military deployment and actions of various kinds that seek to alter peace and security in the Caribbean. He expressed his solidarity with the Venezuelan people and his commitment to the defense of international law and the sovereignty of nations.
For his part, President Maduro explained in detail the illegal, disproportionate, unnecessary and even extravagant nature of these threats, making it clear that Venezuela continues to work firmly for economic growth, national peace and political stability. He stressed that the Venezuelan people remain mobilized, building a homeland in an atmosphere of celebration and joy typical of Christmas, in the midst of a notable economic boost reflected in more than 18 consecutive quarters of growth, an indicator that reaffirms the country's comprehensive recovery. He also underlined the commitment to continue moving forward with Türkiye to achieve the goal of 3 billion dollars in trade.
Both presidents celebrated the successful holding of the two recent business exhibitions, one in Istanbul and the other in Caracas, which demonstrate the strength and vitality of economic, productive, cultural and brotherhood relations between the two peoples.
In the same way, they agreed on the importance of re-establishing, as soon as possible, the Caracas Istanbul-Caracas air connection through Turkish Airlines, which will allow us to continue transporting thousands of tourists and investors who use this route every week to strengthen ties between the two nations.
Finally, President Nicolás Maduro extended an invitation to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to visit Venezuela on the occasion of the V Meeting of the Venezuela Türkiye Mixed Commission, scheduled to be held in 2026, a space where the framework of political, social, economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries will be expanded and deepened
