The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) has experienced a profound process of decolonization of its structure, of its commands, which makes it an independent military institution, said the president of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.

“The FANB broke ties with the manuals in English, with Wespoint, with the School of the Americas, with the colonialism that converted the military, and in other countries, soldiers into subordinates of the gringos,” he highlighted during the ceremony commemorating the 87th anniversary of the Bolivarian National Guard.

In this regard, he stressed that this “independence” process of the FANB was thanks to Supreme Commander Hugo Chávez Frías, who was the ideologue of the country's new military doctrine.
