Prime Minister of Namibia expresses admiration for Venezuela's resilience

Both parties committed themselves to strengthening ties of friendship in different areas.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Namibia, Saara Kuugongelwa, ratified her government's position with respect to Venezuela, applauded the last electoral victory achieved by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros.

He also expressed his admiration for the resilience of his leadership and of the Venezuelan people in the face of the escalation of economic and financial aggressions that Western countries have carried out against the country.

The declaration of the high authority of this African nation was expressed during a recent courtesy visit of the Venezuelan ambassador, Magaly Henríquez González, to whom Kuugongelwa expressed his interest in learning about the model of empowerment of the working class promoted by President Maduro; as well as the intention to continue exchanging information about the model of proactive and participatory democracy, which was established in Venezuela with the coming to power of Commander Hugo Chávez Frías.

Kuugongelwa stressed the importance of both nations making progress in all the areas mentioned above and agreed with Henríquez on the importance of working for the development of both countries. He also rescued the ideals of presidents Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro, as ideal models for achieving true social transformations that have an impact or translate into tangible benefits for societies.

For her part, the Venezuelan diplomat extended cordial greetings from the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and Foreign Minister Yván Gil. He also thanked the leader for the expressions of solidarity and friendship that the people of Namibia have transmitted to Venezuela.

“In August, we received a letter sent by President Nangolo Mbumba to President Maduro on the occasion of his re-election, and we are very grateful for Namibia's consistent support,” he said.

After making a brief summary of the achievements of the Bolivarian Revolution in 25 years of government, Henríquez proposed consolidating the relationship between Namibia and Venezuela under a comprehensive cooperation scheme, whose spearhead is projects in the areas of oil, mining, agriculture, culture, education, science and technology.

Both parties committed themselves to strengthening ties of friendship in different areas, also highlighting sports, music and cultural exchanges in the spirit of strengthening connections between Peoples.

Henríquez reported that over the next few months, several Namibian delegations are expected to visit Venezuela, in order to continue sealing the parliamentary, tourist ties and the anti-imperialist struggle that characterizes both friendly nations.
