The Attorney General of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab, presented this Wednesday to the diplomatic corps accredited in the country, the evidence collected by the Public Ministry (MP) regarding the attempted coup d'etat organized by the extreme opposition right before, during and after the elections of last July 28.

From the Yellow House, Antonio José de Sucre, accompanied by Foreign Minister Yván Gil, explained that the extremist opposition introduced into the country all the forms and methods of what is known as hybrid war and, at the same time, applied techniques for “brainwashing” through messages of hate and discrimination on social networks, according to the web portal Venezuela News.

William Saab revealed that the coup attempt was prepared since the opposition primary elections that took place in Venezuela in 2023. He said that after committing fraud in those elections, the extremist opposition tried to replicate the same thing in the presidential elections.

He indicated that the MP has in its possession around 180 videos showing the action of violent demonstrations to destabilize the country, promoted by María Corina Machado and Edmundo González Urrutia.

“We have placed approximately 60 experts from the Public Ministry dedicated to this topic alone. Every day I update everything that has been happening, but these are the faces of that violence,” he said, showing excerpts of the audiovisual material.

He stressed that most of those involved have an extensive criminal record, and they confessed to having received a sum of money for committing violent actions on July 29.

He also said that if the body he heads and the justice organs had not acted promptly, more than 2,500 people would have lost their lives.
