Public Defense initiates prison justice plan in Zulia

Public Defender General Daniel Ramírez Herrera initiated the Penitentiary Defense and Justice Plan in a trial phase that includes the states of Zulia, Lara, Falcón and Yaracuy.

“We are installing in the western region this prison defense and justice plan in the trial phase, which involves the intermediate phase and trial phase,” said the public defender at the beginning of the plan that took place in the state of Zulia, a regional press review.

He specified that last year the Public Defense initiated the prison defense and justice plan in the execution phase, which obtained important results, since in relation to and working in conjunction with the other institutions of the justice system, such as the Supreme Court of Justice, the Criminal Cassation Chamber, the Public Ministry, the People's Power Ministry of Penitentiary Service, the Ministry of the Interior and Justice.

The objective of the Penitentiary Defense and Justice Plan is to guarantee the human rights of persons deprived of their liberty, as well as to improve prison conditions and promote the social reintegration of inmates.
