The Attorney General of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab, reported on the arrest of Enyer Cavidia, who will be charged by the Public Ministry (MP) of the state of Miranda for the crime of hate speech.
As reported through social networks, Cavidia allegedly disseminated content on digital platforms with the purpose of generating anxiety among Venezuelan citizens. Faced with this situation, the authorities acted to ensure compliance with current legislation.
The Public Prosecutor's Office is carrying out the impeachment process in compliance with the provisions of the national legal framework, with the objective of sanctioning the propagation of messages that threaten peace and social stability.
Hate speech is a crime defined in Venezuelan legislation, and the institutions responsible for it have reaffirmed their commitment to protecting citizens against these acts. Digital platforms remain under surveillance to prevent the proliferation of this type of content.
