The celebration of the canonization of Dr. José Gregorio Hernández and Mother Carmen Rendile continues. In this regard, the people took to the streets this Wednesday to march for the first Venezuelan saints.

“We are proudly marching for our saints who are examples of goodness and dignity, true children of God,” said Maigualida Gómez.

For his part, social worker Luis Hurtado highlighted the historic event of October 19 in the Vatican.

“That from Rome we could hear that our saints were more applauded than the others who were also canonizing,” said Hurtado.

For Dr. Juvenal Estrada, being a colleague of José Gregorio fills him with emotion.

“I am happy that one of the saints is a doctor like me, we have always asked a lot from our Goyito for the health of the whole family and the Venezuelan people,” Estrada said.

The march will culminate in the Church of La Candelaria where the mortal remains of the Doctor of the Poor rest.
