Dmitri Peskov, press secretary of the Kremlin, stated that the willingness of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, to talk with the elected president of the United States (USA), Donald Trump, does not imply a change in the objectives of the special military operation in Ukraine.

“The president has never indicated that the objectives of the special military operation will change; on the contrary, he has reiterated that they remain unchanged,” Peskov said at a press conference.

The press secretary stressed that this issue is related to the security of Russia and Russian citizens in the region.

In addition, he emphasized that in his speech at the Valdai Debate Club, Putin did not mention a change of objectives, but rather his openness to dialogue to resolve the conflict.

Putin has repeatedly expressed his willingness to dialogue with all interested parties who can contribute to the resolution of this conflict. This is essential to remember,” Peskov added.
