Ramón Celestino Velásquez Araguayán appointed as director in charge of Maiquetía Airport

The Minister of Popular Power for Transportation, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán, was appointed as director in charge of the Simón Bolívar International Airport Institute of Maiquetía (IAIM), as announced through Official Gazette number 43,029 dated December 16.

The gazette refers to Decree No. 5,060 “by which citizen Ramón Celestino Velásquez Araguayán is appointed as Director General of the Maiquetía International Airport Institute (IAIM), an entity attached to the Ministry of People's Power for Transportation, in the capacity of Manager”.

Velásquez Araguayán replaces Antonio Rojas Annette, who had been in office since July 2023, according to Official Gazette number 42,668, following Decree 4,827.

Ramón Celestino Velásquez maintains his responsibilities as head of the Transportation Office and as president of the Venezuelan Consortium of Aeronautical Industries and Air Services S.A. (Conviasa).
