Rosalba Gil, rector of the National Electoral Council (CNE) in statements to the press, reported that from 6 in the morning this Sunday until 6 in the afternoon election day will take place on May 25 and offered the first assessment of the beginning of the democratic process.

“Voters will elect, through the vote, deputies to the National Assembly (AN), governors and governors of the states and members of the Legislative Council. It is important to highlight the important choice of Guyana Esquina,” said Gil.

In addition, he added that 569 positions are elected distributed among 285 deputies to the AN, 24 governors and governors of the states, 260 legislators or legislators “that is why this Sunday, May 25, 2025, the Venezuelan people will reaffirm with their vote their commitment to democracy and peace by freely and sovereignly electing the above-mentioned offices.”

The rector stressed that the National Electoral Council reports that the attendance of the entity's technical operational staff, as well as board members, is 100%, so “94.67% of the polling stations for the National Assembly and regional elections 2025" have been constituted and opened up to this time.

“This electoral process has 15 thousand 736 voting centers 27 thousand 713 polling stations 6 thousand 687 candidates running with an electoral register of 21 million 485 thousand 669 eligible voters, in addition to 54 organizations for political purposes and indigenous and regional organizations participating,” he explained.

He also stressed that an identity card is the only requirement to be able to vote even if it has expired.

At the same time, he thanked international observers and electoral experts, renowned professors and intellectuals from the five continents who number more than 1,400. In this sense, from the National Electoral Council, “we invite the Venezuelan people to participate massively in today's elections.”

Finally, on behalf of the CNE, Gil thanked all the public authorities of the State, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), the members of the National Logistics Committee and the security forces, the technical team and board members of the National Electoral Council for the extraordinary work they do for the development of the electoral process.
